Quinlisk doesn’t give rubrics so it can be frustrating at first to figure out what he’s looking for but ultimately he will make you a better writer. He’s definitely controversial and you either love him or you hate him but he’s genuinely a really good teacher. Dont try to write what you think he wants to hear, just put the effort in and actually pay attention to the feedback he gives you. Definitely one of those classes where you get out what you put in. If you go into the class with an open mind and you remember that he’s a smart guy who’s trying to push you to do your best work, you’ll have a good experience.
