To always read any documents and assignments because you will find a lot of your answers for tests and quizzes there. Make sure to keep your readings organized since he does give many of them, and write any important facts in a notebook so that you have everything in one space. If you don't understand something ask questions. Mr. Cichon will answer them and explain more in-depth. Participate as much as you can since a lot of the class is vocal discussions.

I had Mr. Cohen's class during my junior and senior years. He is an excellent teacher; he is very encouraging and has high standards so be on top of your game. Many would say the workload for this class is a lot but it is all for your benefit. His assignments were college-level, challenging but shaped and improved my writing skills. Mr. Cohen presents such great ideas that will have you thinking hard and reconsider your whole life. We also covered college personal essays which helped me through my application greatly. Had it not been for Mr. Cohen's class, I would have been struggling three times as much in college. I have to say I grew a lot in this class all thanks to Mr. Cohen's intelligence and support. Highly recommended, 11/10 would take it again!

Make sure to reread and annotate your papers multiple times. You will usually be allowed to use your papers during tests to provide evidence and having things annotated helps a lot. Make sure to write down any sort of figurative language that you see down since she will most likely ask you a question about figurative language.
