read the books and do your essays well, you can afford to miss a few homework grades but there still aren't a ton of grades going in at the end of a marking period, so consider the work you do wisely. the workload is honestly not that bad unless you're stacked with all honors classes so... just dont be lazy and talk to him if you have a problem, he's very flexible and helpful and gives good advice.
