Read the textbook. You don't learn in the class so you have to learn on your own. In fact, in class, it's worth just reading the textbook instead of paying attention at all.

He is simply put a poor teacher. We sit in class and go over two practice problems a day. We take a test and not a single one of those style problems end up on the test. Instead, new concepts and questions pop up that I can see no relationship to what we learned in class besides using the same variables like Force, Power, etc. If you get him and you're genuinely interested in Physics, try to transfer...
