Read-- Mr. Khalil will know if you don’t. Actually do the homework. Get used to/know how to read Mr. Khalil’s catchphrases. By slacking you’re only cheating yourself. Don’t rely on calc to solve problems. Quantitatives!! EXTRA HELP Study physics every day. Befriend smart kids. Do the problems yourself, and then when you don’t know what to do then look it up. Don’t give up, get a tutor. Actually do the study guides. Don’t be a formula monkey. No plugging and chugging. Don’t worry about grades. Good grades follow an understanding of the material, worry about that first. Knowledge is more important than numbers. Don’t cram the night before for tests. Make learning the concepts your goal. Don’t fall asleep during class. Don’t miss class at all costs. If you do miss class, make every effort to catch up. Go in and look at your tests. Your will rely on Haiku for the entire course, so check it often MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY. Spend time on the lab reports.

I'm two years into my electrical and computer engineering degree at college and taking classes on advanced electromagnetism and semiconductor devices. If it wasn't for Mr. Khalil, I would not be able to do it. The topics we cover are complex and require a very strong foundation of E&M, which many of my classmates were not fortunate enough to have had. I TA introductory circuits courses for the freshmen and sophomores in my major, and it has made me realize just how strong my foundation of E&M is because of his teaching. He didn't just try to make his students care about getting good grades. Instead, he focused on their learning and strove to ensure that all of his students had the conceptual understanding of physics that they would need to continue their technical education. Because of him, I know how to teach my own students the fundamentals of electricity and magnetism that were so masterfully taught to me. With every transformer, oscillator, and circuit problem I solve I constantly rely on everything that he taught me, and I am very lucky to understand this field at a conceptual level, because of his teaching. Not only did he teach me physics, he also taught me how to manage his difficult class and prepared me for college classes. His tough love is the reason that I learned how to be a disciplined student and that I am doing well in college. Mr. Khalil is the reason I scored 5s on AP Physics 1, C Mechanics, and E&M, and was admitted to a top-tier university, in which I am excelling because of my foundation in physics and ability to manage my time in difficult college courses. I cannot thank him enough for everything that he has done for me and my career.
