If you have Mr. Picard for Calc, write down all the derivative formulas that he says to put on flash cards and study them before every test. Personally, I lose flashcards because they're tiny so writing them on sheet of paper was better for me so that's my suggestion. Definitely keep them written somewhere in some format to study off of. Memorizing those 10-15 things will make or break your grade in the class. Some of my friends didn't write them down or memorize them and would end up getting Cs on his tests, but I don't think I ever got anything lower than a B+ on one of his tests. He also does allow retakes sometimes, but don't take advantage of that and make sure you don't wait until the end of the marking period to make stuff up or turn in your homework binder because it is possible he won't accept it.

Mr. Picard is a really great guy and also a really great teacher. I'll be honest. When I first saw him on my schedule for Calc senior year, I was kinda bummed that I didn't get Ms. Mabel for a 3rd year in a row, but looking back I wouldn't change a thing. Picard is funny, covers all the material you need to know quickly (so you can sit back and enjoy senioritis for a little bit at the end of the year), and sees potential in all of his students. If you're reading this, Mr. Picard, I hope it made you smile and I miss your class a lot. Thanks for playing Black Magic and Paranoia with us and teaching us about Phantom toilets.
