AP English Language & Composition Extraordinarily light class - literally all you have to do is show up. However, class is a snooze. 😴 Most classes are just lectures and book readings - the only time you actually have to pay attention is during the timed in-class writing assessments which, if you know yourself to be a fast writer, shouldn't be too stressful. Honestly, you can just treat this class as a free period and screw off in the back where she won't see you unless you want a recommendation letter. In that case, you should sit up front and occasionally answer/ask questions (most other students are zoned out so even minimal effort gets you noticed lmaooo). However, in terms of grading essays - I honestly do not think she has a set system. Expect to be auto-graded 90% for every single one of your essays no matter the length, content, or structure changes. As long as you have 2 body paragraphs minimum, this will always be your grade. Treat this class more like practice to refine your writing skills for AP Literature where Mr. Terzis follows a rubric and actually penalizes/rewards for your writing.

The DBQs are hard; she expects you to finish 5 paragraphs in 2 periods. What I would do is write 2 paragraphs at home on a different document. She waits to grade her quizzes/tests until the last minute, and sometimes doesn't put them in, so you may need to send her an email to ask her to put it in. The notes are 3 pages long in my notebook, and sometimes I don't finish the slides and she moves on before a lot of people are finished.

It is health class, s it won't be very hard. You just have to memorize a few diagrams and terms for quizzes. He does give a lot of extra credit. For gym, it's a actually a very fun class.

In her Honors Pre-Calc class: She’s a good teacher, but the material can be difficult and goes at a fast pace. As the HW isn’t graded, many students (including myself) think that they could get away with not doing it. However, the pace of the course makes it easy to forget what you’ve learned without reinforcement. If you feel lazy, at least do the amount that allows you to remember and understand the material. The class (being math) is inherently foundational, so if you don’t understand the first lesson, you’ll need to quickly catch up. Watching videos and looking at the textbook helps (she models a lot of the questions off of the textbook). Some channels I will recommend would be Organic Chemistry Tutor Khan Academy (reteaches lessons if you get lost) Mario’s Math Tutoring( goes over specific problems and how to solve them, also reteaches lessons)

I'm in his Spanish 2 class. The first marking period is pretty easy- a couple of fun projects, one quiz, and you learn about hispanic heritage month and the day of the dead. The 2nd is a bit harder with a gigantic 2 part test on gender of nouns and weather expressions/ greetings. This test is a lot of memorization, but he tells you which nouns will be on the test, so only memorize the important ones. The class is pretty good to me.

In his AP Biology class Some tests have FRQs; some don't. Curves on multiple choice tests range between 1-2 points; Tests with FRQs are usually curved 2-3 points. Questions are all copied from AP classroom and some are taken directly from the AP practices he assigns you. Practices aren't mandatory per se - in fact, most worksheets he assigns aren't mandatory. Homework is minimal unless you just don't do the labs or "gizmos. " He's not that strict on late work either unless it's already been posted on canvas, then the auto grader will assign a zero. However, if you go to him and talk about it, he'll give points back without penalty. For those who don't know - Gizmo is a website meant to simulate labs virtually and there's always some questions you have to answer in conjunction with it. It is usually done during class in 30-50 minutes so if you do it during class, you'll basically have no homework.

Took him for AP Lit. Love this man. Like AP Lang, grades are mainly from essays and occasionally, homework. However unlike AP Lang (Mrs. Cesaro's class), Mr. Terzis actually follows a rubric and you can actually improve your essay grades by following a criteria. There are 3 types of essays covered in AP Literature: Q1 Poetry Analysis Essay - Typically, in preparation for a writing session, he'll assign you a poem and advise you to divide it into three parts. This is not without purpose; to earn the complexity point on this essay, you need to touch on the overall message of the essay. Draw the most random connections if necessary — he'll actually appreciate it. You can skip around stanzas and connect a line from the beginning of the poem to the end if you're able to. Q2 Prose Analysis & Q3 Literary Argument - Overall same advice - try to find some sort of "big picture" analysis that you can come up with. Make up the most random connections and you'll earn a point for complexity. (Or I just haven't figured out how to write Q2s and Q3s yet :( - these essay types give me my poorest grades... )

Took AP World and Euro The class is mainly carried by his personality — he is a very funny and entertaining guy so it's hard to not pay attention. Classes are chill and it's just taking notes as he switches between slides and explains them. He likes to call on people randomly, especially if it's obvious you're looking at your laptop/not paying attention. Every homework assigned is just a reading quiz that you can honestly just skim after awhile once you learn what to look for. I usually just copy and paste the textbook readings of each page (he has the textbook PDF on canvas) into chatgpt and ask it to summarize loll. During readings you should mainly be focused on trade commodities, technological development, and individuals(almost always a guarantee a name will be on there).
