You must know Spanish before hand to succeed swimmingly

The class is mainly just learning how to follow directions and getting unreasonably yelled at. Isn't this class supposed to make you enjoy learning a new language? Even though before I actually liked learning Spanish, everything in this class is making me dislike it and makes me not want to take Spanish next year. Apparently following directions is more important than the language itself. Possibly due to Covid, learning the language and speaking is harder, but if the students are going to be yelled at ALL the time for not following the most trivial and small directions and making small mistakes that can be easily fixed, what's the point in even learning Spanish. This class is extremely disappointing and discouraging.

The class is pretty hard and unfair. With the pandemic putting our classes on zoom, we have to make these ungodly seasaw videos every single night along with all the other work that is assigned. On top of the unfair workload Senora Calderon simply does not know how to teach. She spends 90% of the period yelling at us for doing things wrong and the other 10% evading our clarification questions. It's ridiculous.

All the homework is busywork and there are usually two to three assignments per night that take up an unnecessarily large amount of time. The quizzes are poorly formatted and disorganized and there's a chance you won't know that there is a quiz or won't know the material that will be on the quiz.
