With her teaching Ceramics, there's very little paperwork that's done within class time. The only computer/paper assignments that had to be done were the safety contracts at the beginning of the semester, and aside from that, everything is focused on working with clay. There is sketchbook work, but that isn't hard or taken for a grade (unless you're in ceramics one, which then it is).

In her class environment (she's a biology teacher) it's both relaxed and tense at the same time. That doesn't make much sense, but let me explain. She plays music through her intercom speaker and has an open-air for questions if anyone has any, but there is absolutely no group discussion or partner projects. So far (I'm still in my first semester), there have been no labs, experiments, nothing. It's all been essay and quiz work. The room is quiet except for the song she's playing and people typing on their computers. It's awkward and makes me want to fall asleep. But that could just be my class hour, as it's my second period and people are still tired. All around, it isn't a very eventful class.

he is never available for help and when he is, he doesn't help at all. Pay attention to the descriptions and definitions of what he's teaching, you'll have to teach yourself.

Due to the classes he teaches being theatre, an insane amount of memorization is required. It doesn't matter if you're in theatre 1, theatre 2, repertory theatre, etc, it takes a lot of effort to make it through his classes. It's all based on project grades - most assignments are group projects, many of them being scenes from plays or presentations. If you don't do well with public speaking or have an issue with socializing, DO NOT take his classes. Theatre is not an easy A, in fact, it can be quite difficult at times. Just look out.

Get out of this class as soon as you can. This class is very boring and does not help you learn at all if you do learn you have to teach yourself, your teacher won't help at all or respond to emails and the only grades that will matter is quiz's and tests

If you enjoy group discussion, then you'll like the way he teaches. In Mr. Welch's class, there is a lot of note sharing and talking amongst others. Ideas are tossed around and everyone gets the same amount of attention and chances to speak when sharing with everybody. If you're an extrovert, this class is pretty cool. But, to level out all the talking, individual note-taking during the class hour is normal. He has a good taste in music and plays his songs quietly over the speaker, so all around, the class has a warm, comfortable, communal feeling to it.
