Talking with ms. Harvalis about lab papers (BEFORE they are due) is almost a guaranteed A. She assigns homework pretty much every day, but it is necessary in memorization and is usually not more than a page of practice problems. The class period is usually lecture based, with labs and work time integrated.

Ms. Harvalis really cares about her students. She will be endlessly patient with any student who is putting in effort. Some teachers specifically know only what they are teaching and stumble when questions are asked; Ms. Harvalis is not like these teachers. Her knowledge and love of chemistry is extensive and exhaustive. If you happen upon a question she hadn’t thought of, she will find the answer and come back to you. Do not be afraid to ask questions and do not be afraid to speak to her.
