-Stay on top of the book work and you'll do fine
Class of 2022
Pretty much just be nice to your classmates and teachers, but maintain a sense of humor and encourage those around you to do the same, otherwise you'll be bored out of your mind. Unlike most classes, orchestra is very social and hinges on communication, so make sure you're trying your hardest when you're playing, participate in the conversations about the music, engage your section if you're section leader/be a contributing section member(! ), and feel free to approach Mr. Ken at any time, really. He does tend to post "participation rubrics" when things start getting out of hand. Make sure, when you come into class, you quietly help set up and unpack efficiently. Don't dawdle outside the door by the new cubbies either. This falls under almost all the categories on the rubrics. If you don't do this, you'll be directly lowering your grade. Trust me.

Class of 2021
Mr. Culver is not that great of a teacher. He's a huge hippie, and has a weird teaching style. Some assignments are concrete for a grade, and others don't matter at all. Sometimes you can just be doing nothing for a whole week and still be on top of things.
Class of 2022
Mr. Culver is legitimately the father figure you never knew you needed. He invests in each and every one of his students, and has a great sense of crude teenage humor. You really can talk to him about the course, music in general, or pretty much anything.
