Class of 2025
As with many things, don't procrastinate on the essays. Also there's a good chance that he won't seriously check all your notes on the books, so don't stress out too much on those. The essays are also graded somewhat harshly compared to the other assignments. Also, if he does word stems, those are basically free points, let them pull up your grade even if you don't like doing them.
Class of 2020
To succeed in this class you need to regurgitate exactly what he says. If your opinion is different from his you are wrong in his eyes.

Good luck! It's not *too* hard to get a good grade in his class (Say, B+ and above), but some effort does need to be put in.
