Participate in discussions and show that you care about the class. Don't overthink things but feel free to let your ideas flow; even if it seems like she's judging you she doesn't mean it in a bad way so don't take anything too personally. You should, though, try to get on her good side, but even if you're not she will accept you even if it doesn't seem like it. Visit her to look over your essays during study or after school.

Ms. Hyde is a rare species, thats for sure. Many students say she is judge-y but even when she is she doesn't mean it negatively and on the inside, she really does care about her students, even the weird ones. She does pick favorites, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it is probably in your best interest to get on her good side.
