What advice would you give yourself if you were just starting the class now?

Class of 2025

Most of the class time is spent doing a packet as a class with the teacher's guidance. The tests are almost entirely problem-solving. He says you'll have enough time on them-- you probably won't. Pace yourself wisely but don't rush and be sloppy because he cares a lot about the WAY you show your work (pay attention to how he sets it up in class). Calculators can be used sometimes and computers almost never. The class is mostly application, memorization might include factor patterns or just knowing the steps to solve something. Watch his demonstrations closely and don't be afraid to ask questions-- he's always happy to clarify. If you already know a topic, I recommend working ahead in the packet after seeing how he wants you to solve the problems. Additionally, some people think that he assigns way too many problems for homework, but I argue that if you are efficient and focused then it shouldn't take too long; the amount of practice pays off.
