Maybe Wendy Eagan is better in an actual classroom. I don’t know. But if you’re like me and have her online during corona time, your best bet is to get on your knees and pray that she’ll be in a good mood next class. As much as I hate not participating in class, your best bet with this lady is to keep a low profile and only answer her questions when ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. She WILL chew you out for using the “wrong term” (i. e. Central America rather than Mesoamerica, even though they’re the SAME THING) and she will NOT explain what you did wrong and how you can improve. Sure, she’ll tell you to go back to your notes, but to what part of the notes? What strategies should we use? WHY is this term more “historian-y” than another? She won’t answer any of these and will probably be snarky if you ask them directly. Good luck.
