Being in Mr. Bannon's class helped me a lot. I had him for Intro to Business in the 2016-17 year as a freshman, and he made sure that you will succeed. I suggest strongly doing the book work, as questions on quizzes and final exams are almost verbatim from the book. The projects are fun and offer insight into the real world also, so take them seriously.

In Mr. Clark's APUSH class, it is not hard to do well and get a good grade unless you make it hard for yourself by not studying or doing any work. Plenty of resources are given out, and Mr. Clark is always willing to give you advice or answer any questions. There is homework almost every class, but it is manageable, especially if you complete it the day you receive it. When studying for tests/quizzes, it is important to read your textbook first, but it is especially important to read and use your 5 steps to a 5 book. This book contains simplified segments of important information you'll need to know for the class and the AP Test in May. Be sure to begin working on your Point Sheet as soon as possible and try to get all your points before the last month of the semester. Work hard, and enjoy your time in APUSH!

AP Lit is hard to adapt to at first, especially if you are not used to Mr. Fredrick's wonderful but abstract teaching style. To be successful: -Write your papers ahead of time, and avoid using broad claims! -Actually read the books. Sparknotes will not help you all that much in this class, as you will miss out on key details and plot points. -Look for worksheet answers in your book, not online. If your answers are not the same as the version of the book you're reading, you'll be marked off points. -Write your notes verbatim to what Mr. Fredrick says in class! His tests are typically based off of his lectures, so it is in your best interest to pay attention. -Don't put off studying/writing papers/worksheets to the last minute. You will be especially overwhelmed. -Participate in class discussions and talk to Mr. Fredrick if you have any questions. He will give you advice worth listening to. To prepare for the AP test and pass: -Know how to analyze literature and write concise essays REALLY well. -Have background knowledge on at least a few books. You'll be given a list of books on the AP test for one of your essays and have to relate a topic to one book on the list. I found it helpful to look up "AP Lit book list" and memorize the plot of a few books of interest on there. Sure enough, one of the books was on the list for the actual test. AP Lit is not an easy course, but if you put in the time and effort, you will be fine.

Spanish III Honors is not an easy course, but it is manageable if you are willing to put the time in. Expect to study a lot on your own. You will be given resources regarding conjugations and vocabulary. Make sure you memorize those resources and deeply understand them. There are periods of review in the class, but you will need to go beyond the reviews in order to do well on quizzes and tests. Most quizzes are open ended and quite difficult, so it is essential that you are understanding the content given in the class. Multiple choice quizzes/tests are rarely given. Start working on projects ahead of time. They require a lot of editing and refining if you want to do well. There will be occasions where you are expected to do a speaking proficiency. I recommend writing down what you are going to say beforehand and practicing it on your own multiple times before class. Do your homework! Every point matters, and it will only help you in the end. Like I have previously stated, this class is not easy by any means, but it is possible to do well if you properly prepare for it.

AP Environmental Science is a tough class, but a very rewarding one nonetheless. There are many stimulating, hands-on labs throughout the year that help give insight on the content of the class, along with a variety of fun projects that make class engaging. The notes are quick paced, and it helps to type your notes instead of write them if you're a slow writer or print the note slides on Canvas out before class so you can pay more attention to the lecture. The tests are very challenging, and require much more than basic memorization. You'll want to set times to study so you can stay on track and highly consider going to PTE or tutoring if you're struggling, as tests can make or break your grade, even if you do well on your labs and homework assignments. Many of the topics branch off of each other, and it is essential that you understand key concepts early on. There is a decent amount of math involved in the class, including half-lifes, conversions, and more, which can be challenging if you don't have a lot of prior background in math but is doable if you put in the time to study. Enjoy your time in APES! All the work is worth it.

If you’re taking Analytical Algebra with Mr. Elliot, focus on keeping your notes and unit portfolio complete and organized because they’re basically your lifeline on projects and tests. Actually pay attention during lessons and ask questions when you’re confused, since the material builds on itself and small gaps can turn into big ones. If you stay consistent and put in real effort, you’ll realize the class is very manageable and earning an A is completely doable.

In order to succeed in Dr. Verpooten's AP Biology class, it is very important for you to make your own notes and compilements since the notes you receive are very unorganized. Although the test is based on the notes, the organization of said notes is very poor.
