Pay attention. The things you discuss in class are relevant on tests later on. Some people say he's a hard grader, to which I say, absolutely. However, you get multiple drafts on each essay -- usually -- so if you don't do well the first time, just collect yourself and retry. I feel like I learned the most and improved my writing/reading skills the most in his class, so be prepared to do some extra work and learn. Motivation and persistence are a must-have in order to succeed in this class.

Although I struggled a bit at the beginning of the school year, after a few months, it was basically smooth sailing. Mrs. Harshberger's teaching methods and classroom procedures are a bit strange at first, but after a few months, you'll get used to it. Honestly, the class wasn't nearly as difficult as many others say. Pay attention, do your homework on time, and study for tests and you'll be fine.
