actually do the summer reading, you’ll regret it if you don’t because your grade depends on the assignments and test.

do your homework. if you don’t, your grade will get dragged down. also, he likes pop quizzes and randomly checking homework. he flips a coin and whatever it lands on means he’s either going to check everyone’s homework to see if they did it, or he’s going to give you a quiz. tests are a MAJOR part of your grade, so study from the textbook or the study guides he provides. if you want to get in contact with him, go to his class. he’s bad at answering emails. just do your best, and that’s what really counts. if you put in half effort, you will fail. good luck.

this class (fashion and textiles) is mainly based on in class work, so there shouldn’t be any homework (other than some online textbook stuff, but that isn’t hard and doesn’t take too long). just know that it is a lot of sewing, and if you’re not okay with that, you definitely shouldn’t take this class, in the first semester you make a pair of pajama pants, a mask, a bunch of seam samples, and a pin cushion. in the second, you do some more sewing and things with the cricut.

It’s pretty cool! Just please listen during instruction time... you can still see course work but following along will help you immensely.

pay attention and participate!! you can learn a lot from mrs. rumple and her teaching. she is truly the best teacher i have ever had in my entire life. she is very supportive and accommodating to each student’s individual needs. if you need any extra help, don’t be afraid to ask her. in class, she gives you the answers to test questions. just pay attention when she says “this will be on the test! ” because it really will. overall, just enjoy being in her class for as long as you are. when you go to tenth grade, i guarantee you’ll miss her. oh, and also, don’t make your font a light color on a light background/a dark color on a dark background. and make sure you’re using upper and lowercase letters (unlike me right now lol). also, when you’re reading a book as a class, make sure you do actually read the book. it will make quizzes/tests much easier. :)

Tedrow is a really nice teacher, to survive her class you literally need to just be do your work as early as possible. for the literature reading like Scarlet Letter make sure you ACTUALLY read the book, and not listen to the audio summaries because she will ask VERY specific questions (what is the color of [CHARACTER] dress? ). for the Modern Author Project, get as much data as possible and MAKE SURE you keep pace and get work done A DAY before its needs to be turned in (doing it on the day its due is also fine, but its stressful). Most of your tests will be MCQs, with some essays.
