Regular Algebra 2 is paced very slowly, so if you are considering switching out of Honors- I personally wouldn't. (If you want to take BC- dropping down to reg sets you on a track to take Calc AB and GBN makes it very hard / teachers don't allow you to move back up, even if you meet their requirements of a very high A. ) Many class periods would be us taking 45 minutes to go over 3 problems on the board for a handful of students. Mr. Krickl does want to help though, so ask him ahead of quizzes/tests if you have any questions!

Mr. Krickl is a very nice person, but personally I did not like him as a teacher. While he probably had good intentions, he seems to underestimate students in a way that they're not challenged. When I wanted to appeal to move up to honors (a scheduling error put me in regular), he said that he wasn't sure I'd be able to handle it, and since it was just the first week of school I don't know how he concluded that. (I was able to not pay attention for 95% of class and kept a high A throughout the year, so I think I would have been fine. ) If you have questions or want to appeal, actively follow up with him.
