Do your work. Please. For the love of everything, do your work. I get it that it can be hard, but you can always ask Mr. Stevens questions. Listen and pay attention, and if you need any extra help please ask someone.

Joseph Strain, 6th to 8th History/Social Studies

Be kind, respectful, and honest and you'll do fine. Listen to the teacher, do your work, etc. but also understand that you aren't a machine. And, if you make a mistake, you won't automatically get thrown to the wolves. Admit your mistake and apologize. Other than that, there isn't much to say. Mr. Strain's class isn't an easy A, but it's also manageable. Also, don't talk over his lessons. You'll miss a lot of important information, you'll get in trouble, and you'll make it so much harder for everyone else to learn. Just be respectful.

If you are given study materials or helpful notes, DO NOT SHOVE THEM IN YOUR BACKPACK OR LOCKER AND FORGET ABOUT THEM. Mrs. Watson gives you materials to HELP YOU. And, trust me, they WILL help. They will be so useful for tests and assignments that you didn't even realize you would need help on. Also, if you're reading a novel- actually read it. Don't skim, don't look up the cliffnotes/sparknotes. You will get caught, and you will not know important answers that you need for your grades.

Listen when she talks. You're gonna fail the class if you keep getting distracted and talking over the teacher and doing everything but paying attention. You won't get a lot of time to write things down, so you need to be listening when things are being said. And, if you don't get the notes or the answers, ask a friend/classmate AFTER the bell rings; don't interrupt. And don't throw away any notes or worksheets you have, even if they seem useless.
