Make sure do to annotations because he gives you a point extra on the reading quizzes. Read the book because after every assigned reading, you have a reading quiz. Make sure that you know important quotes from the chapters and the overall summary of them. Also, known grammar, as in FANBOYS. He grades you on your participation in class discussions that we have every class.

AP Lang is ALL ABOUT HOW TO WRITE A SENTENCE. I wish I had known that beforehand because it turned out to be my least favorite class EVER. All you do while reading is focus on what words the author chose to use instead of anything to do with the plot so it just feels like you're reading sentences with no context or relationship to each other. Also in terms of writing, you have to follow the structure/format so closely so there's like no creative liberties in this class. If writing/grammar is not your thing do not take this class unless you really want to die of boredom.

BC Calc is a hard class, especially second semester. However, it is not impossible. As long as you keep up in class and go in for help when needed, you'll succeed. Also Wiltj has an amazing record in terms of AP scores (my year was like 90% 5s and the year before was 100!!! ) but that doesn't mean you'll automatically get a 5. It just means she really does her part to prepare you but it still comes down to how much effort you're willing to put in. You also read 2 plays in this class which is kind of weird for a math class but I personally liked them so don't be biased before you actually read them

PLTW is not for everyone so if you're not really into lots of math and formulas and doing stuff on your own, this is not the class for you. However, if you do like engineering, be forewarned that PLTW is really heavy on electrical, software, and mechanical engineering and there's like no biomedical or aeronautical or any other types of engineering involved (unless you stick it out for 3 years and get to choose whatever capstone project you want). Also there's only so much the teacher can do for you in this class bc they can't build your robot or whatever. Basically be ready to have to really think and apply what you learn.
