2 great ways to succeed in this class and have a ton of fun doing it: - Show up on time - Don't be dumb Struyk loves to have fun and is super knowledgeable, but if you act like a child in his classes he won't take it.

My experience in this class was awesome, and definitely the highlight of my time at high school. I took Band and Jazz Lab Band with him all four years of high school, but I chose to take a bunch of other elective classes that he teaches along the way as well. He is super willing to engage in authentic conversation, and will work with you to accommodate your needs. He has built up a large and successful band program from close to nothing, and I'm so glad I got to be a part of that.
