For Dereu's Psych class, make sure to MEMORIZE the studies. Listen when he assigns essays to write, he'll tell you what he wants included. If you're not good at writing essays, don't take the class. If you're still going to, use the ERQ guide he provides. Good luck.

Never feel bad about asking him a question. He is open to explaining specific material all the time, provided people are willing to ask for help.
