Class lectures are often engaging and interesting, but underprepare you for tests and quizzes. Although Mr Shamberg tells his students to not memorize when studying, tests often try and trip you up on small details that he seldom covers in class. What he goes over in his presentation is usually a small skim of what will be on the test, so you need to take lots and lots of notes.
