Make quizlets for vocab quizzes, take a lot of notes on assigned reading, participate as much as possible. There are many miniquizzes. Grammar is only briefly gone over.

Ferg is one of the best teachers I've had! His teaching style is focused more on original thought and discussion, instead of worksheets and cookie-cutter essays. I was able to think in his class. It was very eye-opening to be exposed to a different, open learning style. There's a good amount of work, but it's work that is interesting and meaningful.
