In this class, the teachers use a method called "flipped classroom" (though they do not follow it properly) where they give you a task list and they expect you to read all the textbook sections on your own and do the practice problems on your own as well. There is very little teaching in class, which is mainly a study hall to read or work on problems, so do not expect lectures, presentations, class discussions, etc.... The teachers are available for help, however, they are very unclear in explaining and seemed to only confuse me more than I already was! You're on your own in this class (maybe even get a tutor), and the material they give you to practice with before a test, if any, is easy compared to the level of the actual test, which comprises of most of your grade. The tests focused on over-the-top level thinking and the exceptions in a case, especially for a class where we had to learn everything on our own, and were nothing like the practice work we had prior to the assessment. They also give you very little time, typically a day or two after reading the chapter, to study and solidify the information in your mind before taking the test. For most tests, I felt unprepared with content and insufficient practice; plus, there will be formulas that will have to be memorized despite having an equation sheet with you on the test (doesn't include every single formula). The only other things that are graded are the labs. We did them pretty often, and our teacher forced us to handwrite them in lab notebooks with pens, including everything from our pre-lab work to our lab reports, which consisted of a conclusion and an error analysis. They were often confusing since the teacher did not explain them well to us, so most of the time, I had to go out of my own way to get extra help or try and spend a lot of time figuring out the logistics of some labs on my own. In the end, this was a very tough class and I did not have a good experience taking it.
