I took Lovato's English 2A class in 2019-2020, my sophomore year and then online during distance learning due to the coronavirus. In the classroom, the work is fairly tough but not so bad. Make sure to study your vocabulary and take down notes because copying down the spelling words, words, and looking up definitions for about 10 of them is a way to get easier points. The quizzes are at the beginning of each week, so study!! (about /40pts). The writing isn't too bad... We usually wrote an essay after each book, and summer reading is to be determined (for 2020-2021). The book reports are pretty stressful but the teacher gives reasonable due dates- so make sure you stay on top of it or your grade will plummet! Make sure you write your name on everything and try to turn your stuff in on time!! The teacher gives you 40 pts worth of extra credit coupons but takes one away if you're on your phone, turn things in late, or don't write your name, so watch out for that. For the books you read, he will guide you through it and go really in depth into their messages. He also likes to show the film adaptions of the novels so we're not just stuck reading. There's a lot of reading for sure because of assigned novels and book reports, but it keeps you on your toes. The class is fun if you do your work and try to talk to the teacher; he's hilarious. He will try his best to make things fun and involve you in them.
