Be prepared to write every day. You will write so so much and it will be great practice for the AP exam. I've taken Ms. Brewer's AP Lit class and it was always interesting. She accepts criticism very very well, so don't be afraid to correct her because she makes mistakes. sometimes She doesn't take points off for late work as long as it's turned in by the end of the grading period. She will also accept work even it's way past due as long as it's by the end of the semester. That being said, don't slack off and think you'll just make up the work later or you'll have to write until you can't feel your hands in order to not fail. There aren't many extra credit options, but her assignments are pretty straightforward and simple albeit filled with writing. She wears Victorian-looking clothes but she's a very modern woman.

There really isn’t much advice required because most of the requirements to do well in this class are easy to complete. You do your essay and you’ll automatically get a B or A which we do an essay like every 2 grading periods. And essay grading mostly depends on grammar, citations, and other minimal stuff (not really on the quality of your essay) which makes it very easy. Also during weekly vocab tests, little knowledge is required as you need to remember 10 words that you get the option to redo tests as well (same w/ his freshman English class, they’re about the same difficulty). Also about 90-95% of the days you’ll get 10-30 mins of free time and free use of tech which is kind of amazing but gets boring. My freshman English class was apparently much harder and had heavier workload by multiple times, my hands would be in grave pain due to writing paragraphs everyday but I still loved that teacher (Brewer btw). I also loved that she gave a good comment on my first semester report card, and as long as you give good impressions and do fairly well or ask questions you’ll probably end up with A’s in both semesters.

First semester of algebra 2 in this class comes in handy where it’s mostly review and using knowledge of algebra 1 until the inverses and cos/sine graphs is where you should actually listen. I always did well or aced the tests for first semester until second semester I begun realizing how her grading works. As I struggled bits and realized a bit too late that I should‘ve come more frequently for seeing my mistakes during the tests. Apparently, one incorrect answer on the tests results in an automatic 75/100 and one/two incorrect answer w incorrect steps is an automatic 65/100, which I believe is very unfair due to being most correct throughout the test.

You need a good memory and plenty of time. Also, his grading is little weird. You need to put in lots of detail on tests. Also, he only grades the tests. You can basically just skip either class work of homework (you can do one or the other, or just both).

Practice stretches and moves outside of class, especially choreo. If there is a move you can't quite get, ask for help from a fellow student or from Youtube. If you're serious about the class, you might want to join one of the schools dance teams or an out-of-school dance class.

Now I have him for world history so gradually it’ll become harder if I join his APUSH class 5which I won’t). But from what I’ve learned are take notes quickly while listening intricately when he tells you to and be precise with what you try to store in your mind. This is because what he says sometimes but doesn’t tell you to take notes of, are also sometimes a question that pops up during the tests. Also class average test scores are around D-C for regular world history.
