Focus and strictly listen to the teachers instructions. If you need to talk to the teacher, don't be shy. He may seem intimidating, but just say your question and he answers like any other teacher. Complete work on time to keep up with the class. learn to manage work properly otherwise it might seem like a whole lot and you will fall behind.

we use Google Meet all the time, so make sure your computer is charged. Also you're allowed to use notes on all of your tests, so that's important too. You even get to keep your computers open during tests, and she lets you use calculators for most of them.

For a non-seminar class, there are usually 6 essays. The first is a book review, the second is about Frederick Douglass's memoir, the third is a personal memoir, and the last three are about To Kill a Mockingbird. However, this may have changed since I took her class. As long as you fill out your structure templates (which she often provides) in detail, the essays should be relatively easy. She cares a lot about tone and emotion in your writing, so make sure to properly implement those into your essays.

I cannot even begin to start describing how great of a teacher Mr. Rick is. He might seem intimidating given his naturally authoritarian facial demeanor, but it won't take long for you to realize how incorrect that is. He's really fun, not afraid to crack a joke every now and again, and really is one of the better math teachers at Marhsall. Only caveat is... his tests are extremely stressful, probably some of the most stressful tests you will ever do, but as long you study properly and make sure you don't miss a single thing he says (yes, he really isn't afraid to go crazy on the tests) you will be just fine. Listen to him in class and study, that's it really.

She might seem a bit intimidating at first, given how she expects new 8th graders to handle assignments in a way that might seem alien to them, as long you nail down critical thinking and other text-analysis techniques then her class is a breeze. She might assign a lot of homework but these take no more than an hour each night. She's also super willing to help out if you have a problem with something (she'll sometimes just straight-up give you the answer to a question if you ask nice enough) Overall, she might seem intimidating, but if you do what she says and ask questions, then her class is no more troubling than the next.
