Ask him for help for the writing material like the rough draft and essay. Read the material beforehand since he sometimes give out quizzes at the beginning of the class.

Always be prepared for writing notes when he is talking about the requirements of a project/essay. He will only verbally tell you what you need. He will not give you a rubric.
