for trig h... - IMPORTANT: while he doesn't check until the end of the unit, it is essential that you keep up with homework. a lot of the material builds upon the previous material, so it's not worth putting the homework off - actually pay attention during class. the whiteboard explanations he does are really helpful for conceptual understanding - the class is more memorization heavy than algii and geo so be prepared to take ntoes

Review the quizzes and homework problems as prep for tests, the test questions will be similar to them so they're a great resource. Tests do count for more of your grade (around 60%, but check the syllabus), while homework counts for less (around 20%), although doing as much of the assigned homework as you can before the next class will help immensely. It can be easy to slack off on it because he only collects/checks them in bulk at the end of each unit, so that's something to remember.

Mr. Perryman is on top of responding to emails from students, so he's easy to communicate with outside of class if you have a question. In addition to that, if you see him in person outside of class (especially in the mornings before school starts, that is probably the best time to see him), he will be more than happy to help you. In class, it's mainly lecture, with sometimes allotting towards the end of class for getting a head start on the homework. His only true pet peeve is when people talk over his lectures, so keep that in mind as something to not do. His "lectures" really don't feel like lectures as he constantly cracks dad jokes and puns and just overall makes class more fun, has people come up to the board to work out practice problems without the pressure of "getting it right", he explicitly says that making mistakes is more useful in a way, for the whole class to learn. Overall, his class is pretty straightforward to figure out as he'll directly say a lot of these things towards the beginning of the school year. As a teacher (I know the prompt did not say to talk about the teacher but I do feel like it's important to mention as he makes the class better than it may be), Mr. Perryman gets a 5 stars
