Good teacher, Engineering is not my favorite subject but he made it an interesting class. I enjoyed this professor and this class and I think that he fostered an enjoyable experience, especially in the dump that is University High School.

Get ready to read your textbook/watch videos. She does not teach. Also, check canvas daily because she sometimes assigns 50 questions in one day that you have to do or you'll get 50% on the homework assignments.

I would recommend not saying anything even remotely disrespectful, never talking back, soley saying things such as "yes ma'am" and NEVER EVER speaking English in this classroom.

Read, the class doesn't work without reading. JG can't work his magic if you don't read. Don't just read, you must READ. Read outside of class. Read material that isn't on the syllabus. Read magazines, read comics, read Dostoevsky, read Holderlin, read The Giving Tree. Whatever the genre, whatever the medium, whatever the audience, there is meaning to be gleaned from the pages. The meaning remains hidden until the watchful eye seeks to learn, and to learn is to READ.

I took both Graphic Design and AP Studio Art in her class. Just make sure to follow the deadlines for assignments and you would be fine. As she always tells her students, it’s better to turn something in—even if it’s not finished—instead of not turning in anything.

I was part of his IVA Vocal Ensemble class and what I can say from my experience is that the class is extremely fun. I joined the class for second semester, but even if you suddenly join, it’s entertaining.

There are normally a few homework problems on his tests. Otherwise, he will mostly throw out a few curveball questions and a few multiple choice. You really just have to think outside the box for the curveball questions.

The homework, as usual, is free points. So definitely do it. The notecards are key to your grade, and again, free points. However, you will need to memorize lots of equations, which again, the notecards will help you do. Exams will be hard, and will be on the level of thttps://ratemyteachers. com/us/california/irvine/university-high-school/tim-smay/review#review_nexthe homework. Do extra problems from the book, and use Slader to look up the answers to them. Note that you should use Slader after you've done an honest attempt for the practice problems.
