MEMORIZE THE ESSAYS. trust me, it may seem like a lot of work but its really not. be respectful in class and take many notes, especially in his class.

It is a very challenging class, he is extremely strict, but he can also be extremely fun. You'll have an amazing time, but you'll go through hardship while doing it.
