As another comment states, get on her good side. She's very appreciative of students who make an effort to participate, and it also helps to engage yourself in the class discussion she often holds. As for the workload within the class, there's bi-weekly vocabulary homework and then a vocabulary quiz that requires memorization of not only the words, but of sentence structures that you take notes on. I would prioritize the sentence structures because they can be difficult, but you get many chances to practice them on the vocabulary assignment. If you get something wrong, be sure to ask her for help if you need elaboration on a mistake. Besides that, there's also several projects throughout each semester, typically assigned after we finish an assigned book. Work on these for at least SOME time throughout the week. Don't leave the full project unfinished until the day before it's due. Trust me. If you don't like reading or writing or if you don't seek to improve on your reading and writing over the year, then this class is probably not for you.

Read the curriculum; ask for extra time if needed on projects but know that not much is given. Don't do other assignments in this class, or expect it to be easy. Minimal writing is asked for at the end of projects and she is big on introductions within the first week so there will a lot of material handed out that will be about yourself. Most importantly, have fun!

This is regarding Honors Chemistry.. - class is hard, but he is there to help you - study EVERY NIGHT! If you want a high grade, you need to be keeping up with the homework and understanding everything coming your way. - Read the textbook! Don’t skim through it. It is very helpful. I STRONGLY suggest you read it before class. - memorize stuff along the way! - his tests and exams are very, very hard. However, he does curve them. If I could tell you to do one thing with this class, STUDY!

Every time she gives a reading on Schoology, you basically have to study it like it's a test. Study all the minor details because she will probably give a pop quiz on it the next day, which she never tells us. Always complete the homework, and sometimes the homework will be really confusing or you won't be able to find a direct answer online, so go to her access and ask for help on it BEFORE turning it in.
