Mr Herrick is the best teacher on the cypress highschool campus, and you will be lucky to have him as your teacher. 10/10 would reccomnetd.

Herrick is the best! But aside from that, this class will involve a variety of skills related to strong memorization and writing skills in order to succeed. This class is really great for the average history buff but even if history isn't your cup of tea, Herrick does a great job providing the resources you need to succeed (you don't even need to be in his class to get help from him). Just make sure you consistently ask for help or review on the topics you are learning and you should be fine. However, if history is your worst topic, I'd suggest trying out different perspectives on how you perceive it. For example, I went through the class looking at history as an active story being told over the ages of time which allowed me to effectively study the copious amounts of textbook page quotas assigned every week. I suggest finding ways to make European History more digestible by finding interesting shows and etc. like Extra History and Crash Course. If you find that you can't keep up with the reading pace, I would suggest working with a partner and reviewing the content together.

Don't do what I did. Don't procrastinate on your notes. At the beginning of each semester, be ready to have your hand hurt and write notes. Pay attention in class, I'm regretting that I didn't as much as I should have. Even though this is a pretty rigorous course (cause it's an AP class), Herrick still tries to make it as easy for you. Through notes in class, discussion, etc. IMPORTANT: always participate in class. if your grade isn't that good, if you participate and raise you hand, etc. he gives you extra credit for the participation points (2 or 3 more) but it's an AP class, so every bit counts.
