If you want to succeed, you must always listen during discussions in order to understand the text to the best of your abilities so your analysis is the as in depth as it can be.

For AmStuds make sure that you annotate the stories/books that you read very well so that you can do well on the reading quizzes(they are unannounced so make sure that you are prepared after any reading). The vocab quizzes are easy points as long as you do ample studying on the Quizlet sets beforehand. She is a harsh but fair grader on essays and other written assignments, however she always gives some feedback for improvement. Be sure that you take this feedback into account when writing anything subsequently and you will succeed :). Overall an amazing class, especially with learning History with Owens! :) She definitely will help you become a better writer and lit is such a fun subject with her.
