Mr. Valdivia is AMAZING! I had him my sophomore year for Spanish 2 and I never felt more confident in Spanish. He accommodated my 504 plan. He was always available for help. As much as I talked and joked in that class, I felt that I was always on track. We would have class time to work on the workbook with our peers. he allowed us to move around, then he would walk around to help students and correct what they did wrong. At the end, we would all go over it. In my opinion, Mr. Valdivia expressed different teaching techniques such as visual and hands on. Overall, Mr. Valdivia is one of the best Spanish teachers at Heritage, he always managed to make people smile and laugh especially when he told us stories. If you get him as a teacher, consider yourself lucky! -Jordan Brassart (Class of 2022)

Spanish 2, as like any other Spanish class, requires a lot of memorization; luckily, this teacher provides Quizlet sets with all of the necessary vocabulary terms needed for the exams, which are effective study material and always helped me do well in the class. This teacher also gives meaningful lectures and notes to help explain grammatical concepts and always answers any question presented to him by any student regarding the concept he is teaching thoroughly and thoughtfully to help the students better grasp the concept. He is, as an addition, able to do all of this while engaging the students in the lectures by adding a couple of relatable and genuinely funny jokes in between the lecture, so the students don't fall asleep. There are also retakes offered to students as well as extra credit opportunities awarded to students who win the various academic games we play after each to class to review the learned concepts from that day or week. In my honest opinion, Spanish 2 itself is perpetually easier compared to Spanish 1, where students are thrown many different concepts as well as vocabulary words to master and memorize all at once. Spanish 2 introduces only a few, easy-to-master concepts as well as vocabulary all in a manageable and rational timeframe to the students.
