Most notes are hand-written, not fill-in-the-blank! Prepare to write until your wrists hurt (this class is worth it though, as someone with weak wrists and a love of history)

Ms. van Dijk's (maiden name Schweitzer, this profile is outdated) history classes literally inspired me to pursue a history degree in my post-secondary life. She is my all-time favourite teacher, not because her class is easy or because she's overly nice, but because she's engaging and her lessons make you want to know more. She is divisive among students, but I have found that those who don't like her are generally the ones who don't do her work or participate in class. History has always fascinated me and these classes only solidified this. Take these classes if/while you can, they are so informative and fulfilling!!!
