100% learn how to UNDERSTAND and COMPREHEND the notes instead of just memorizing them. Mrs. D posts literally everything on D2L or Edsby so it's very easy to go back to find missing notes or what you missed if you were absent. But if you're just copying notes down without understanding the concept—good luck passing this class. Really go over each and every word until you understand ALL THE MATERIAL! The tests aren't too bad but you really do have to study. Most of the time the test starts out pretty easy and gets harder as you near the end. For our class, we barely had to write any of our notes; it's mostly fill-in-the-blank notes. ALSO, LISTEN TO WHAT SHE IS SAYING!! She sometimes gives really good hints or important information for questions that are going to be on the test (I liked jotting those things down on a sticky note and sticking them in my binder for when I would start studying).

All I can say is, have patience. I can't promise it'll pay off, but don't let yourself hate bio because of a bad teacher - which I did until I got to uni (luv it now :) Do your homework - that's probably the most important part. She gives a lot of homework, and I mean a LOT, it's like she completely forgets you have other classes 2. If you don't finish it all on time you lose marks, very little exceptions. To be fair though, homework practice is a huge help 4 test and quizzes. Pay attention in class, because the PowerPoints are rlly informative and she's great at communicating the info. Make sure you've memorized and completely understood the content before the labs, or you won't really understand what's going on. Its not a no - judgement zone. You won't always feel safe asking questions, especially if she already explained the thing or it's very simple, but screw it, you're gonna be judged anyways, so ask the questions. You have to believe that we came from a common ape - like ancestor btw :D Good luck, you'll need it.

- If you memorize everything she gives, you'll be fine. But that's not the problem, the problem is the time to study. She gives zero time to study and gives one day in advance when there's a test. So, try to memorize your notes before hand, before its too late.
