Pay attention. It'll help.
Fredenburg is often very open to you exploring what you are interested in and wants to see you do so. I encourage you to bring up any inquiries you have about anything as it will be to your benefit if you truly participate in the class, not only in marked discussions but during lectures as well (ask questions! ). Make sure to include a lot of application if you are in his philosophy course as it's probably the hardest section to do well on and have fun, philosophy was my favorite class and it is well worth the effort and time.
don't overthink anything. fredenburg is a cool guy. currently still struggling with the writing part, but i'd say to try to talk about it because it does help you generate a lot more ideas for seminars and stuff. i'm struggling a bit in this course too but good luck and props to you if you're not
