It's a very boring class but Mr Fortier personality helps keep it somewhat interesting.
Presentations are more laidback than writing assignments. Word count is usually more of a suggestion than a requirement so going above would usually be better.
He's very chill and laidback. The courses he teach don't require much memorization as it's all based on participation.
Took 11Pre-AP/12AP Biology with Hazlewood in 2021/2022. The content in these classes are very heavy compared to many other courses offered, but there is still adequate time to understand everything. Labs are very easy to complete if you pre-read the instructions the night before. Make sure to not only listen to his lessons (since he doesn't have detailed information on the slides he posts), but also read the textbook (this is a MUST, since it helps deepen your understanding and makes the quizzes/tests trivial). There are always an abundance of "application questions" which require you to use certain keywords to obtained the marks available. Overall, would probably say that his tests/quizzes are harder than the AP Biology exam.
