Do the homework and practice every night. On tests and quizzes he tends to take homework questions from the textbook and change up the numbers. A lot of memorization is required, and he's not the best at helping or providing accommodations.

If you're taking Academic/University level math, you should be fine if you do the work that you don't understand and skim over the homework that you do. If you are in Pre-AP though, the lessons are still high-quality but you will find yourself worked to the limit, tortured with work (if you love math, it's fine). Make sure to do as many practice sets (for Pre-AP) as possible, since it can help boost your mark at the end of the year. For both Academic/University and Pre-AP courses, email the teacher any and all questions from the homework you don't understand (he'll take up all of them, and it's very useful)
