Ms. Dekker is the Head of the English and that was not a benefit to me in her class. Instead, because she's an AP teacher, she thinks it's okay to make an Academic class move at the pace and difficulty of an AP class. If I wanted to be stressed and fail a course I would have chosen an AP class. Because she is the Head of the English Department, she doesn't seem to take criticism or change anything about the way she teaches. It didn't matter how many people made the same claim she did not care. Even small things such as using an accent while reading To Kill a Mockingbird. The kids in class who would be considered trouble makers or lazy were almost in no way helped to get back on track in the class. Within the first day of class she had already decided that if one of those kids were talking to her she would decide to ignore them instead of even try to help them for a moment. When they legitimately wanted or NEEDED help she would still ignore them. One of my classmates dropped out of her class because of how ridiculous it was and I would recommend if you get Ms. Dekker to do the same. Her class is by no means impossible, but I would not consider her a good teacher.
