As you will not be allowed to have your phone, try to actually learn French through the year. Lots of memorization, but you'll survive. Studying is optional. There will be daily questions you'll have to answer in front of everyone (in French), so as soon as you see the question, try to come up with a vague answer before she calls on you.

Preferences on Mme. Papillon widely differs throughout St. Benedicts. I loved her as a French teacher, though she didn't teach me anything. That seems to be the case. Most students who like her are overachievers, know more French than others, and want to achieve in the course. On the other hand, those who hated her guts frequently broke many of her rules, and they were only taking the class because it was mandatory. Mme. is extremely strict, so no phones, music, or any non-uniform clothes. If you disobey these rules, it will get real ugly real fast. Your opinion of her focuses on you, so don't listen to what anyone says (including me) until you meet her!
