Burgess can be hard to follow. Try to keep up and get notes down. The only advice I have is to stick with it. The longer you’re in his class, the more you get used to him and you can kind of figure him out. He becomes easier to understand over time.

Burgess can be hard to follow. He’s very knowledgeable and passionate about the material he teaches, however at times he can come off as extremely condescending and rude. He is known to call out students. He uses advanced language and that can trick some people. Burgess gets easier to understand the longer you’re in his class, but at first it can be daunting. Over time you either start to get it, or you don’t. Burgess’ course isn’t easy. He challenges his students by pushing them to their limits, this sometimes results in students achieving things that were seemingly impossible to them at first. I personally found him the perfect difficulty where I was adequately challenged. The verdict is essentially at times his personality and teaching style can be daunting, but he is indeed a quality teacher. You aren’t getting out easy with him.
