Talk to him about anything you don't understand after class because he will gladly do so. Keep in mind when he gives back tests he's the only one with the question copy so if yku want to know what the questions were to answers you got wrong try and be the first to ask him. Take notes. If you miss a day you might not understand what hes talking about in his slides as he explains more than his notes show.
