Socials 10, 2018-2019 I strongly recommend connecting with students in other classes. Sometimes, certain blocks are taught material which others are not. Every block gets the same tests. By connecting with students in other blocks, you can confirm that even if your class isn’t taught the material, you’ll be test-ready, and vice versa. If there’s a project assigned before a break, Mr. Turner fully expects you to work on it over that break, and will count the break as time given to get the assignment done. In terms of class environment/teacher communication, Mr. Turner is friendly, but can be condescending and disorganized. He teaches in a very direct note-taking style, and explains material well. If you understand the basics of essay writing, it is possible to do well in his class. You will likely learn most of the curriculum. Flashcards, adequate note-revision, and some essay-structuring fundamentals are good strategies to succeed in his class. Certain aspects of his communication may be vague, in which case other students should be consulted before the teacher. He does seem to have interest in the course material, particularly in the government unit, and you can have a positive experience in his class.
