This class (any taught by Mr. Meldrum) won't be easy, but it has the potential to be the most rewarding, engaging course you ever take. In my experience with several social studies courses, pure memorisation isn't enough to excel, however paying attention & asking questions in class will prepare you well. Research projects are more common than traditional tests, and you'd do well to not procrastinate. I recommend you become familiar with bibliography websites, and don't feel afraid to ask questions in class (chances are, if he doesn't know the answer, he'll be willing to google it and engage in further discussion)

Incredible man, one of the smartest, wittiest teachers I've had the privilege of being taught by. He genuinely cares deeply about his students, and his classes are so interesting that I find myself remembering details of the course out of the blue, years later. His apparent love of teaching is second only to his love of coffee. His classes have been the best I've taken, in content, classroom environment, and level of knowledge.
