Your lowest quiz mark in the unit can be replaced with the unit exam mark if you do better. There’s also a replacement test at the end which you can replace your lowest unit.

Some material is not always covered in the class but is part of the related issue exams. For example, in RI#2, the inter-war period had not been covered in class yet the questions were based on this topic in the exam. Please note that Mr. Irwin didn't always give out the right hints of what would be on the exam. Throughout lectures he would give out what questions would be covered in the exam, such as the myth of Queen Marie Antoinette saying: "let [the ordinary people] eat cake". This was supposed to be in the exam yet never showed up. To be totally honest, you can't take his word on what would be on an exam unless it is super obvious, such as the 3 estates in French society in the time when King Louis XVI was ruling would be crucial to your knowledge of RI#1.

She has high expectations for you to already know a lot, especially about literary terms. When you're writing personal responses, there's going to be an analytical option, never fall for it. She'll tell you it isn't personal enough. The papers are worth the most, but the marking is very strict.

Try and let loose, there are alot of things that might challenge your comfort zone. You'll probably be asked to walk like your walking through pudding, water etc. put alot of energy into the "games" they do count and help you.
