in terms of debate, he's an outstanding debate coach and teacher administrator for our school's debate club, which is in its infancy. very helpful and easy to find for questions, inquiries, etc., and once emailed me back at 9 pm. absolute gigachad, listens to tf2 and drake. god bless you mr. thwaites
for science/math, as far as I know he is very tricky as a teacher. he will put questions on the test that have not been discussed in class. this will probably make you very confused and surprised while doing the tests in order to resolve this issue, go online the day of the test and search up a bunch of topic-related quizzes. if you do a few (multiple times, just to memorize everything) you'll get a bunch of random info you can use in the test. some of it may miss the mark and won't be needed on the test but a lot of it may come in handy and generally help you understand the material better. this method works for me best, but it might not be the best for you. try it out mr. thwaites is a big softie. he will let you use your device for random stuff if you want, and will not care about it in a general sense. mostly because his lessons consist of him putting up a set of slides and scrolling through them with the occasional comment about the material on them. you may as well take a picture and review everything later. as for whatever you are doing on your device, if it interests him enough he might come up to you and take a look. (though this happens quite rarely) he will act interested in what you are doing for a brief moment and then leave. this is fine. if you are having online classes at your present moment, he will not teach you much. (though you are still expected to do the work) he will most likely let the chat simmer and put up a kahoot after a while (on something random) he could also put up a magic school bus episode or something of the sort generally, his class is very fun and you get to watch movies sometimes. take it easy. 11/10 would learn again
first off, 90% of materials are all going to be self taught. once a week, id say, we go through notes (though he doesnt really explain, he just puts them up on the board and reads them aloud while we take notes). the rest of the time he assigns booklets, and i mean a LOT of booklets. pay attention to the textbooks, especially for this class because all of the test questions come from there, as well as a bunch of booklets. one last thing is sometimes he'll scare you with a bunch of tests in one week, and yes, make sure to get in the studying but most, or all of the time the test is pretty simple. i believe he got surplused but i heard he's back for hum and comtech, so as long as its not smath, you're good! lol.
oh mostly just do the work lol. he'll hit you with a lot of curveballs but don't worry too much about them.
